Certificate Program in Aseptic Compounding Techniques
Application Form
Course Format -----------------------------
| | |
The preparation of sterile medications represents a huge need in modern health care.
Parenteral administration is often required for a number of medications – from nutritional supplements to pain therapy.
Compounding pharmacists qualified to prepare sterile medications can assist physicians by preparing medications of this
sort which are customized to the particular needs of the patient, in many cases significantly improving the quality of life for that individual.
This course will examine, in depth and with an eye toward implementation, proper and lawful techniques of sterile compounding.
An independent study component of the course will examine definitions of sterility and regulatory requirements for aseptic compounding.
|
| |
This ACPE accredited certificate program combines 12 hours of live programming with 4 hours of independent
study. The two-day live program will consist of review of the independent study, lecture, group discussion, and actual compounding of sample medications in the laboratory.
The independent study portion of the program is to be completed prior to the live program.
The course is conducted in conjunction with consultant faculty from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, University of California at San Francisco School of Pharmacy and the University of
Mississippi School of Pharmacy.
