Certificate Program in Contemporary Prescription Compounding

Application Form

Course Format
-----------------------------

The advent of new technologies and demand for customized care requires the compounding pharmacist to do more than hand-roll suppositories and hand-pack capsules. This course will review contemporary prescription compounding techniques and provide hands-on training utilizing the newest equipment and technologies. An independent study component of the course will examine the legal, quality control, and safety issues related to compounding of prescription medications.

This ACPE accredited certificate program combines 12 hours of live programming with 4 hours of independent study. The two-day live program will consist of review of the independent study, lecture, group discussion, and actual compounding of sample medications in the laboratory. The independent study portion of the program is to be completed prior to the live program. The course is conducted in conjunction with consultant faculty from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy.
