This aliphatic halide presents as a colorless, characteristic-smelling liquid. It is known to be miscible with ether, chloroform and alcohol, and very slightly soluble in water. Mechanical exhaust is required, and excessive heat and light must be avoided. Do not ingest or breathe gas/fumes/ vapor/spray and be sure to wear suitable protective clothing.
