This aliphatic solvent, also known as dimethyl cellosolve, presents as a colorless to almost colorless ether-smelling liquid. It is known to be miscible in water and alcohols, and soluble in ether, benzene, acetone, chloroform and hydrocarbons. Store in a cool, dark and well-ventilated place, under inert gas and at ambient temperatures - this substance is air sensitive. 1,2-Dimethoxyethane is incompatible with oxidizing agents and strong acids and should not be stored or handled in their vicinity. This chemical is highly flammable in liquid and vapor form.
