Also known as Zinc Salt (1:1) Heptahydrate, White Vitriol or Zinc Vitriol, this substance occurs in nature as the mineral goslarite. With a white orthorhombic crystalline appearance and is odorless. Zinc Sulfate Heptahydrate is hygroscopic and easily soluble in cold water but practically insoluble in alcohol and incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. This substance can cause mild skin irritation, irritation of respiratory tract and serious eye irritation. Harmful if swallowed. It is incompatible with strong bases and strong oxidizing agents and should be stored at room temperature.
