General Information About SPI

We’ve compiled some general information regarding dress code, travel, commute, and hotels. If you don’t see something on this list or need further assistance, please contact us at 800-370-6231, ext. 5479.


Class schedules are outlined in your course materials. Lunch is provided every day. Please notify us in advance if you have any dietary restrictions, i.e. vegetarian or allergies.

Dress Code

Please note that proper lab attire IS REQUIRED FOR LABORATORY CLASSES. Failure to comply with USP rules may result in the instructor asking you to not participate in the lab portion of the class which will result in failure to receive CE credit and your Certificate of Completion.

For programs including laboratory training (Sterile, Nonsterile, Pain Management, and USP <800>):

  • Wear only closed toed shoes
  • Wear scrubs or non-shedding clothing
  • No makeup
  • No nail polish
  • No fake nails
  • Nails must be trimmed and short
  • Hair must be pulled up and away from face
  • No jewelry allowed. There is no safe at Spectrum. Leave jewelry at home or your hotel room

NOTE: Attendees of the BHRT training program may wear business casual attire.

CE Credit

Attendees requesting CE credit will be required to provide their NABP e-profile ID and birthdate (MMDD) to receive credit for any CPE session. Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and the American College of Apothecaries are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to provide continuing education.

Cancellation Policy

30+ days before event - Full Refund
29-14 days before event - 50% Refund 
13-0 days before event - No Refund

Transfer to an alternate class date may be permitted one time with notice or request made at least 14 days prior to the start of the program. Spectrum Pharmacy Institute reserves the right to modify the activity content, faculty and activities; and reserves the right to cancel this activity prior to the start of the program if necessary. We recommend purchasing travel insurance or booking with an airline that will allow you to reschedule your flight if the need arises.

To and From Newark Liberty International Airport: 
It is recommended that you rent a car or take New Jersey Transit trains from Newark Airport to New Brunswick. Taxi fare from Newark Airport to New Brunswick is approximately $60.

New Jersey Transit's Northeast Corridor train runs:
- From the airport to French St. & Albany St. station (35 min. ride)
- To the Jersey Ave. station (0.7 miles from Spectrum Pharmacy Institute)

The Hyatt Regency is the only hotel within walking distance of the New Brunswick train station. If you use mass transit from the airport, you will need to take a taxi from the train station to a different hotel.

  • Hotel operates a shuttle within a 12 mile radius and is complimentary to guests based on availability (call hotel for details)
